childcare?
Anyone have childcare suggestions? I’d like to bring my 1-year-old with me but I’m not sure what I’d do with her. Something like KiddieCorp would be great if there were enough demand. Thoughts?

We’re bringing Sprout (9 month old) but were planning to keep her with us; Lynette is going to some sessions to, but we figure if we sit in the back and leave the session if she starts getting cranky, it ought to be okay.
At Barcelona, Lynette had Sprout and mostly sat in the coding room and it was pretty much okay. Though Sprout was quite a bit younger and much less likely to make trouble than she is just now.
I’ll check with the AIIM conference to see if they have anything set up/planned for childcare. We are colocating Drupalcon with their conference.
AIIM won’t have childcare during their conference (who we are colocating with) but the convention center suggested contacting the nearby Children’s Museum. Unfortunately they not longer offer childcare services.
Speaking of the Children’s Museum, if you are bringing your kids, it’s a good spot to check out at some point when you are in town:
http://www.bostonchildrensmuseum.org
It’s not too far from BCEC, overall — Children’s Wharf at 300 Congress Street, Boston MA / 17-426-6500
When I spoke to someone at the Children’s Museum, they suggested Parents in a Pinch. We won’t have a separate room available for childcare but if someone wants to self-organize childcare options, their website is http://www.parentsinapinch.com. Perhaps your hotel room could be utilized for this?
Thanks so much for doing the research, sooz. I’d happily host a Parents in a Pinch room, if I were staying anywhere near the convention center, but unfortunately I’m not. It looks like we’ll have her on site at least part of the time. Merlin, my Bean is looking forward to meeting your Sprout! :)
My kids are grown, but I sympathize with you.
