Mediacurrent would like to dontate $500 to sponsor Drupalcon attendee...
Platinum and gold sponsors
Mediacurrent, a web development firm based in Atlanta, Georgia that has a niche in Drupal would like to donate $500 towards sponsoring an attendee for Drupalcon.
We have gone to the financial assistance page here http://boston2008.drupalcon.org/contributors-need-financial-assistance, but it was tough to tell who still needed help. We apologize for the last minute decision, but we were trying to see how much we could afford to allocate, as we are still in a start-up mode ourselves. We are about to launch a very robust social networking site in Drupal, and felt like sponsoring someone would be an ideal way to give back…stay tuned on details of that project.
Our criteria is really open. We would like to give to someone who really needs it (tell us a little about you and your situation) and is an active contributor to the Drupal community.
Please respond ASAP to the email addresses below - we hope to make a decision by 5pmEDT on Monday, Feb 18th.
Thanks,
Dave Terry - Dave dot Terry at mediacurrent dot com

Thanks to everyone who reached about the $500 sponsorship. After reviewing a number of worthy candidates we have decided to donate $500 to ADAM LIGHT – many of you are probably already familiar with Adam’s work, but he is a PhD student with a major in Neuroscience who has unselfishly volunteered countless hours to the Drupal community (when he finds time away from his studies).
You can read more about Adam’s direct involvement with Drupal here:

Let me also mention that there are a still a number of deserving applicants that could use some last minute financial assistance –we would be glad to refer some names if you (or your company) would like to help out!
Thanks again Adam for all your hard work!

Adam’s a great guy, and we really look forward to meeting him at Drupalcon!! Thank you so much for your generosity. You guys rock!! :D
If anyone else is feeling generous, I’d like to throw a shout-out to Jimmy Berry as well, as someone hugely deserving of a chance to come to Drupalcon and, as a high school student, not financially independent enough to sponsor his own way there. Sponsoring a contributor who needs financial assistance is a great way to build good-will in the community. :)
