Session Description:
Update: the BoF will take place in the “big” room on Wednesday afternoon at 3pm.
It looks like 2008 and D6 is going to be an exciting year for Drupal and the Semantic Web. I’m proposing this BoF to gather together everyone interested in or actively building semantic web solutions along with Drupal. This is aimed to be a chance for everyone to align and consolidate approaches, and demo the interfaces that are being developed.
This is a screenshot of Drupal 6 targeted modules being developed by Arto Bendiken.

I'd love to attend.
Thanks for the link to The Semantic Search module. I’ll be in Boston at that time (I’m a native of the area.)
I also live in Spain, near Arto, so I’ll contact him.
A new RDF project was also started today by scor:
I started a wiki page to discuss the RDF data mapping standards for Drupal.
Here is an old link to an article I wrote discussing the pros and cons of RDF.
Is there an official RFC process for Drupal?
Will attend
Very interested in hearing what other folk are doing with semantic technologies and using Drupal to front ontology searches, how much content is cached in the local Drupal store, how to scale SPARQL queries, etc. Is it possible to create some type of db abstraction to an RDF store and if so, how and who’s done it. At Harvard IIC, we’re trying to tackle these things to help us create a scientific collaborative framework (http://iic.harvard.edu/projects/stem.html). Hope we can chat!

Great pointers
Thank you Hendler for these resources. I’ll be sure to check them out.

RFC process
I’m not sure what you mean. Generally, getting something committed to core could be considered the end of an RFC process. I don’t think any of our RDF craziness will be making its way into core anytime soon.
I think the main “RFC” will be to settle on a schema for Drupal that can be represented in RDF, as well as plain-old-XML (e.g. a drupal namespace in RSS feeds). I think we can get agreement on that pretty quickly, although that is definitely something we could talk about during this BOF.
RFC
I agree, the RFC process that should take place is simply to define a mapping schema, or each module implementing RDF is going to map Drupal data differently. Agreeing on a data a standard ASAP for import export of RDF will save a lot of module developers problems now, and should anything ever make it to core, there isn’t a big conflict with core data…
Maybe the Drupal 6 module mentioned above is going to answer all our hopes, but it’s just not being done in a transparent way.
Maybe Drupal should have an RFC module. Like a wiki page, with a final draft joining some set of ISO-like Drupal standards. Too formal?
I’d be happy to present an RDF mapping at Drupalcon, to kickstart the RFC, or whatever the process is called. RDC (Request of Drupal Comments), DSO (Drupal Standards Organization?)
Made mention of your article here:

Plan to Attend
Thanks for taking the initiative on this session. We have a SW project coming up so this is timely. -Joe
I'll be there
Thanks for organizing this, Boris!
Anybody attending FOSDEM 2008?
Seeing as a bunch of us working on RDF-based solutions for Drupal are not going to make it to Drupalcon Boston, does anybody here plan to attend the Drupal track at FOSDEM 2008 next week? I will be there and would love to chat with any semweb people who may show up.
RDF API details and use cases
For anyone interested, I’ve now posted some particulars on the upcoming RDF API for Drupal 6.x and the use cases it’s being developed for.

That’ll be my contribution to the BoF session!
