Drupalcon Boston 2008 - Tuesday - March 4 http://boston2008.drupalcon.org/taxonomy/term/251/0 en Alternatives to Community Social http://boston2008.drupalcon.org/alternatives-community-social
Hi everyone,

The Community Social at Drupalcon will not be some people’s “thing”, plus it is illegal for some people (including myself) to attend. I therefore would like to mention that we are planning a “mini code sprint” as an alternative option for people who either don’t like the sort of environment that will be at the social or are not allowed to attend.

Please post below if you’re interested in this instead of the social so we know approximately how many people there will be, as we are planning on providing brownies. For, after all, the average coder’s efficiency goes up 50% on an excess of sugar. ;)
http://boston2008.drupalcon.org/alternatives-community-social#comments Tuesday - March 4 Wed, 13 Feb 2008 05:26:13 +0000 cwgordon7 991 at http://boston2008.drupalcon.org If you're under 21, would you like to organize an event for attendees <21 for Tuesday night? http://boston2008.drupalcon.org/if-youre-under-21-would-you-organize-event-attendees-21-tuesday-night
Massachusetts has a relatively new law that prevents nightclubs from allowing anyone into the club who is under 21. It used to be you could get in at 18 — you’d get a special stamp or wristband and not served alcohol. That’s no longer the case.

Felt is the location for the Tuesday night party that Acquia is sponsorsing. Since it’s 21+ only, I was curious if anyone under 21 wanted to get people together to meet up and do something else.

I’ve hosted a popular board game night in Boston for a couple years and I’d be happy to set one of those up somewhere in Boston. (We’ve most recently had the board game night at Soul Fire, an excellent BBQ restaurant in Allston on the Green Line’s B train part of Boston. Is that of interest? And just to clarify, we’re not talking about Candyland sorts of games — geekier games like Carcassonne, Settlers of Catan, Around the US in Ten Days plus a local favorite, Apples to Apples. We’ve got about 50 games overall: board and card games.

If a game night isn’t of interest, anyone else want to step up and organize an outing?
http://boston2008.drupalcon.org/if-youre-under-21-would-you-organize-event-attendees-21-tuesday-night#comments Tuesday - March 4 Tue, 05 Feb 2008 21:00:32 +0000 sooz 752 at http://boston2008.drupalcon.org "Conference Social Event": Who's allowed to attend? http://boston2008.drupalcon.org/conference-social-event-whos-allowed-attend
Are there any restrictions on entrance to the “Conference Social Event”? From the description, it sounded like there would be a lot of drinking, which would suggest that people below the legal drinking age in Boston would not be allowed. However, it then says “Admittance will be free and open to all Drupalcon attendees,” which makes me think that people under 18/21/whatever would be allowed given that they’re attending the conference. If someone could clarify the situation, it would be appreciated :D .
http://boston2008.drupalcon.org/conference-social-event-whos-allowed-attend#comments Tuesday - March 4 Sat, 19 Jan 2008 02:50:22 +0000 cwgordon7 374 at http://boston2008.drupalcon.org
