Drupalcon Boston 2008 - Drupalcon Site Suggestions

File uploads would be an awesome addition to the sessions content-type

It seems like the most natural place for session presentation files to go would be on each session page itself on this site. That would require comment upload capability. It would be awesome; it would give significant shelf-life to this site.

I understand this is very last minute to be suggesting adding a module to this site, so maybe it will just be a suggestion for next time.

Assuming the comment upload module will not be added to this site, I think that session presenters, or folks who get the files from session presenters, should create a new forum topic in honor of such a score; forum topics do allow follow uploads.

Front Page Layout Broken in IE7

The right-side of the site is falling below the left side in Internet Explorer 7, which is caused by the lack of “display:inline” tags while using floats (a very common IE bug that causes the margins to double in the direction of the floats). I would try adding this to your css file:
.panel-2col-stacked .panel-col-first{ float:left; width:50%; display:inline; } .panel-2col-stacked .panel-col-last{ float:left; width:50%; display:inline; }

Video Sessions/Stream Tab

Im wondering if a Video section or tab could be added to the boston2008 Drupalcon website? An ability to stream and/or upload video’s / picture gallery would be a nice value for people to experience, remember, and share this event with the Drupal community.

Man I've Completely Screwed Up!

My girlfriend and I attended the 5 day Drupal theming class put on by Lullabot in Los Angeles the first part of this month and we decided we should definitely go to DrupalCon in Boston. We found a good price for airfare between Las Vegas where we live and Boston. Booked our flights. Booked our hotel. And I’ve been busy with work so I’d planned on getting back around to paying for the conference fees… I’d read on the site how there were like 600 people in Barcelona and they had a bigger place in Boston to hold more people so I never had any idea that there was a chance it might sell out or I would have paid a couple of weeks back…

If there is anyone on here who has the ability to squeeze Liz and me into DrupalCon.. please.. help me out. . I’ve so totally screwed us up on this one. My girlfriend is gonna kill me.

This morning I logged into the boston2008 drupalcon site (at the time, it said 739 currently registered attendees) and clicked through to paypal to pay my fee, but didn’t fill out the credit card form yet. I was then away from my computer for an hour. When I came back, I filled in my credit card information, etc, but received an error on submit. When I went back to the drupalcon home page, it said the convention was sold out!

What can I do? I’ve already paid for my flight & hotel! Please help!

Problem uploading picture

Is anyone else having trouble uploading a user picture? I keep getting:

* The selected file /var/www/boston2008.drupalcon.org/htdocs/tmp/tmp_zhuXxA could not be uploaded, because the destination files/pictures/picture-489.jpg is not properly configured.
* Failed to upload the picture image; the pictures directory doesn't exist or is not writable.

An invoice

How can I get an Invoice for the con.

I mean, I need some document that I paid for the con and my name is written there.
Unfortunately the paypal log shows only who I paid.

Hmmm, it seems like the site name “Drupal” should be reserved for Drupal.org. Yes?

Is it possible that the person installing this site just fell victim to forgetting to go to /admin/settings/site-information to change the site name!?

[It’s awesome that D6 gives you the chance to set up the site name on the installation page and that it doesn’t default to “Drupal”.]
