will there be a (foo)BAR?

Just a friendly reminder and one of the things that some of us missed Barcelona drupalcon. a fooBAR

We need a central placed bar where people can hang out afterwards - in Barcelona people were running from bar to bar (not that it is a bad thing) but it was almost impossible to find each other :/ and one of the things that make drüpal rock is the people

So pretty please, some of the locals could find a bar that can hold 600 geeks, and serve us all ;)
… and some of us will not complain if it were a micro brewery with double IPA, served in 5 liters towers (http://www.flickr.com/photos/mortendk/434852689/in/set-72157600028115630...)

Not a native...

But I did a little searching, and these sounds like some good options that aren’t too far from the Convention Center:

All of these are around (or below) 1 mile from the Convention Center:

A transplant

Drinking in Boston is pretty expensive, and I tended to stay in the South End/Back Bay area when I went out — but I have heard good things about Tia’s. Just my $0.02.

Google maps is your (foo)BAR friend!

Potential (foo)BARS

I’m leaning towards Weggies Pub. With a name like that how can anyone resist? :)

Although, a little further away from the convention center is the Cambridge Brewing Company; very easy to get to on the T.
They serve the TRIPEL THREAT, a Belgian-style strong ale.

I’m staying in the Back

I’m staying in the Back Bay area, so anything around there or on the way home sounds good to me. :)

how far do we want to stray? the dive bar list.

If you want it to be walkable from the convention center, two places come to mind:

  1. Lucky’s, which is a cozy cave of a lounge with a Rat Pack theme. At the corner of A and Congress…beware, it’s unmarked!

  2. Clarkes’ at South Station - That’s right, the bar in South Station! What could be easier to find than this place? Never been myself, but it seems to be a ok spot for a Harpoon IPA and something fried.

Southie (South Boston) has many little neighborhood bars, some not too far from the convention center. However, the walk there is a forbidding stretch of desolate industrial wasteland, so I don’t recommend it.
