Prevent global warming, with a carbon offset
Platinum and gold sponsors
Consider offsetting the carbon dioxide created by your travel to DrupalCon. As we’ve all heard, CO2 is created by human activities is a major cause of climate change. Air travel is just one of many activities that creates a significant amount of carbon dioxide. For most of us, getting to the DrupalCon in Boston will require getting on a plane and flying. And as sure as the food they serve on your flight will be mediocre, the plane will spew CO2. You can do something about it. You can offset the CO2 created by your flight for around $20 USD with one of many services:
- Native Energy offers offsets by selling Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) and supporting the development of renewable energy like wind turbines and methane energy generation on farms.
- Atmosfair, a German Company, allows you to offset your carbon footprint with investments in solar, hydropower, biomass and energy efficiency projects.
- MyClimate, a Swiss Company, has two project portfolios, one Swiss and one International, that invest in specific projects that adhere to high standards for green house gas reduction and improved sustainability. Their projects
are audited and their website offers detailed information about each.
While there are many other companies offering other types of offsets such as reforestation or carbon credit purchases, the three listed above were recognized in two separate reports as among the most reputable companies offering carbon offsetting. To learn more visit Clean Air - Cool Planet (the organization behind one of the reports).
