Session Description:

SESSION OVERVIEW
Open Laszlo is an open source flash/dhtml solution. Based on object oriented xml and ecmascript, this particular solution has great applications when paired with Drupal. In this session we’ll discuss some of the basic Drupal techniques required to use the product, as well as some basic Q&A on Open Laszlo itself.

AGENDA

  • phptemplate: creating output for your laszlo applications
  • views: custom theming for xml output
  • Q&A of Open Laszlo as a solution (I’m working to get an OL professional to join me for this session)
  • If we have time, perhaps a discussion of graceful degradation & how these technologies can play together nicely.

GOALS
My main goal for this session would be to introduce a greater portion of the Drupal developer base to Open Laszlo. The applications that could be built for Drupal could have a huge long term effect on much of what we develop, and I think would give us options long term for some gracefully degrading themes and other application like behavior.

RESOURCES

It’s worth noting that both of these sites are drupal sites. :-)
