SESSION OVERVIEW
Much work has been done to bring Drupal’s database handling into the 21st century (and into PHP 5) with Drupal 7, but there’s still some work to do. Larry Garfield and chx will be leading a BoF to update on current progress since Barcelona and to call on volunteers to write drivers for databases other than MySQL and SQLite.

TRACK
This is an informal BoF session, for database-interested developers to meet and discuss the status of The Future of Databases (insert echo reverb here).

AGENDA
* The latest database system design and features.
* Implications for how one writes Drupal code.
* Plans for getting it all into core.

GOALS
If you leave this session not stoked about the new database layer, then we need to try harder.
