Session Description:

SESSION OVERVIEW
Although basic multilanguage (interface translation) support was part of Drupal for several years now, multilanguage request handling and content support only got into Drupal 6 recently. The first part of this session will provide an overview of where we are and what’s missing. There is clearly lots of places for improvement in Drupal 7, so in the second part, we will host an open discussion for those interested in bringing the multilanguage support forward in Drupal 7.

TRACK
Core and community.

AGENDA
* Feature matrix: what’s covered by Drupal 6
* Contributed modules: i18n and localizer as well as the smaller ones
* Discussion: core strategies to fill in the missing pieces in Drupal 7

GOALS
This is going to be a planning session, not a “how to build a multilanguage site” use case. We hope to get more insight into how Drupal 7 can proceed and get more of the interested people to take part in the process as well.

RESOURCES
An understanding of i18n and/or localizer module is a plus for quickly jumping into the discussion.
