SESSION OVERVIEW
Part II of II (see Part I here: Report on Formal Usability Testing…)
This will be a working session with two goals. 1) Identifying and beginning work on the concrete improvements to Drupal suggested by data gleaned from the University of Minnesota Libraries’ usability testing. 2) Providing attendees with data, scenarios, and guidelines for conducting follow-up usability testing.

AGENDA

  • Based on one or two particularly important usability problems we will create example issues in the Drupal issue queue that explain the user experience in a way that fosters constructive discussion and solutions.
  • Guerilla usability testing tutorial – Selecting evaluators, creating scenarios, capturing and analyzing data.
  • Fire up your laptops, pair off, and perform a basic screen capture usability test.

GOALS

  • Identifying and beginning work on the concrete improvements to Drupal suggested by data gleaned from the University of Minnesota Libraries’ usability testing.
  • Providing attendees with data, scenarios, and guidelines for conducting follow-up usability testing.
  • Launch a usability program to scale at the level of the community “Let a thousand usability tests bloom.”
