Transportation from Providence

One of the other nearby airports is Providence’s TF Green Airport (actually in Warwick, RI). If it’s substantially cheaper to fly in there, it might be OK, especially if you’re coming on Sunday and leaving on Friday, for example. From the airport, take a cab to the train station in Providence ($25?) and then get on an MBTA Commuter Rail bound for South Station (you can take a somewhat-sizeable walk from South Station to the conference).

Another option is to take a cab from the airport to Kennedy Plaza in Providence, where you can catch a Greyhound or Bonanza/Peter Pan bus to South Station (bus or train ~$15?). CHECK WITH THE BUS SITES FOR ACTUAL PICKUP LOCATION. Some of the Greyhounds might leave from Fountain St., which is a one-block walk at the most from Kennedy Plaza.

The RIPTA is the public bus line, and there is a bus that runs from TF Green to Kennedy Plaza if you’d rather avoid the cab.
